4 ways to get a green card

On Behalf of | Feb 21, 2024 | immigration |

If you have ever wanted to move to the United States, it’s important to understand that there is more than one way of doing it.

While green cards can be hard to get, you have a fair chance of success if you fulfill the criteria for one of the following four scenarios.

You are in love with a United States citizen

You should never try to marry just to get a visa because the immigration authorities are practiced in detecting this kind of visa fraud. However, if you are genuinely in love with someone and intend to marry them, then seeking a visa so that you can marry them is possible.

You have immediate family with U.S citizenship

If your immediate family lives here and has citizenship, then you may be able to move here too. This is generally an option for children, parents or siblings of U.S. citizens.

You possess talents above and beyond the ordinary

You don’t need to be an all-around talent to get an “extraordinary talent” visa. You just need to be extremely skilled at one thing. The U.S. will consider visa applications for people with extraordinary talent in anything from math to baseball to singing and more. Note that when the government says extraordinary, it means it. If you are “merely” better than the majority, you are unlikely to succeed with your application.

You have an offer from an employer

A job offer from a U.S.-based employer could be your ticket in. A company will need to show the necessity of hiring you rather than one of the many people who already live here.

If you feel you may have a case under one of these routes, then it’s best to get help to learn more.
