Diversity Visa Program for Fiscal Year 2022
The U.S. State Department recently announced that it is opening up the green card lottery until Tuesday, November 10. The program, officially known as the Diversity Visa Program for Fiscal Year 2022, will allow 55,000 people the ability to obtain their green card without having a sponsor. The program is to encourage immigration from countries that have had typically low immigration rates to the U.S. for the fiscal year 2021 lottery, the program received over 6 million entries. The top countries that were represented with winning a visa were Egypt, Iran, Russia and Algeria. For this year’s lottery, the winners will be drawn randomly and there is no cost to apply.
